From download to your first decrypted request

  1. Download & open the DMG, then drag MinPin to Applications.
  2. Launch MinPin. Since it's notarized, it opens without a Gatekeeper warning.
  3. Install the privileged helper (optional but recommended). When prompted, install MinPin Helper so the app can toggle the macOS system proxy reliably. You approve it once: on macOS 13 and later under Login Items in System Settings, on macOS 12 with your Mac password.
  4. Install & trust the CA. The first-run Setup Guide generates a local root certificate and helps you trust it in Keychain, which is required to decrypt HTTPS. The private key never leaves your Mac.
  5. Enable SSL decoding per host. Pick the domains you want to decrypt. MinPin never decrypts traffic you didn't explicitly opt in.

Full setup guides for iOS / Android device proxying are built into the app under Help.

System requirements

Free vs PRO

The free tier includes the full capture pipeline (HTTP/HTTPS/HTTP/2/WebSocket/ gRPC/GraphQL/SSE), SSL decoding, filtering, search, bookmarks, block/allow list, throttling and DNS spoofing, with 30-minute sessions. PRO unlocks breakpoints, rewrite rules, Map Local/Remote, compose/repeat, JavaScript scripting, Security Mode, Waterfall view, session save/load, HAR/CSV export, the code generator, reverse and upstream proxy, MCP, and removes the session limit. Updates

MinPin updates itself via the built-in updater. The download link always serves the latest version, and the saved file is named by version (for example MinPin-1.0.1.dmg).
