Terms of Service & License Agreement
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Plain-language summary: you receive a limited license to use MinPin on your Mac. You must use it lawfully and only on traffic you are authorized to inspect. Anonymous usage and crash telemetry runs by default unless you turn it off (it never includes your captured traffic; see our Privacy Policy). The software is provided "as is." Payments are handled by our merchant of record. The full terms are below.
These Terms of Service and End-User License Agreement ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MinPin macOS application ("MinPin", "the Software") and the minpinproxy.com website (together, the "Service"). MinPin is operated by its developer ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using MinPin, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
1. The Service
MinPin is a native macOS network-debugging proxy that captures and inspects traffic on devices you control. Contact: support@minpinproxy.com.
2. License tiers
MinPin is offered in a free tier and a paid "PRO" tier. PRO features and pricing are described on the pricing page at the time of purchase. We may offer:
- PRO Personal: a one-time purchase granting a perpetual license to one named individual, including every future version of MinPin, on up to three Macs that person uses at a time. There is no renewal and no separate charge to continue receiving updates.
- Commercial: a seat-based license held by an organization rather than an individual, renewed for each subscription term. Its additional terms are set out in the Commercial License Agreement.
PRO licenses are activated once per Mac over the internet and check in with our license server when MinPin starts and about once a day while it runs; PRO keeps working offline for up to 60 days between check-ins. A Mac can be deactivated at any time to free its place. What activation sends is described in our Privacy Policy.
Free-tier limits (session length, feature gates, etc.) may change; we will not remove core free functionality without reasonable notice where practicable.
3. License grant
Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use MinPin for your own lawful internal purposes. Unless we expressly agree in writing:
- a PRO Personal license key is for one natural person; organizations buying on behalf of their staff need a Commercial License;
- you may not resell, sublicense, rent, or share your license key;
- you may not circumvent license enforcement or remove proprietary notices;
- you may not reverse-engineer the Software except where applicable law expressly permits it despite this limitation.
4. Acceptable use
MinPin can decrypt and inspect network traffic. You are solely responsible for lawful use. You must:
- intercept only traffic on systems and networks you own or are explicitly authorized to test;
- obtain all required consents and permissions from data subjects, employers, customers, or other parties as applicable;
- comply with all applicable laws, including computer-misuse, telecommunications, wiretap, privacy, and employment laws in your jurisdiction.
You must not use MinPin to access, intercept, modify, or exfiltrate data without authorization, or to harm, harass, or defraud others.
5. Your data & telemetry
Traffic you capture remains on your Mac unless you export or transmit it. MinPin may collect and transmit anonymous usage and diagnostic data as described in our Privacy Policy. Telemetry is intended to exclude captured proxy traffic. It is enabled by default; you may disable it in the app. By using MinPin with telemetry enabled, you acknowledge that processing as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Payments
Paid licenses are sold through our payment processor and merchant of record. That processor handles checkout, invoicing, applicable taxes, and payment-card processing. Your purchase is also subject to the processor's buyer terms. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. If a payment is refunded in full or charged back, the license is revoked and PRO features stop on each Mac at its next check-in with our license server.
7. Updates
MinPin may check for and install updates through a built-in updater. In a security emergency, we may publish a signed minimum supported version; an older version of MinPin will then tell you to update and will not keep running until you do. We may change features, fix bugs, or discontinue functionality at our discretion. We do not guarantee any particular update schedule or backward compatibility beyond what is stated for your license tier.
8. Third-party components
The Software may include third-party open-source components subject to their own licenses. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those component licenses.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SOFTWARE AND SERVICE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that MinPin will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components; that SSL interception will succeed for every host; or that the Software is suitable for regulated, life-critical, or high-availability production environments without independent validation by you.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of implied warranties; in those jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply to the fullest extent permitted.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SOFTWARE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
- OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SOFTWARE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including fraud or willful misconduct where not excludable).
11. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of MinPin in violation of these Terms or applicable law, including unauthorized interception of traffic or mishandling of data you capture.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your license if you breach these Terms or if required by law. You may stop using MinPin at any time. Upon termination you must cease use and destroy copies of the Software in your possession. Sections that by their nature should survive (including license restrictions, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.
13. Changes
We may modify these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If you continue using MinPin after changes take effect, you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree, stop using the Software and contact us about any prepaid term that may remain.
14. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Vietnam have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
Before filing a formal claim, please contact us at support@minpinproxy.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
15. General
- Entire agreement: these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and, for Commercial licenses, the Commercial License Agreement are the entire agreement regarding the Service.
- Severability: if any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver: failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Export: you must comply with applicable export-control and sanctions laws. You may not use MinPin in violation of such laws.
