Docs / Modifying Traffic
Breakpoints
Pause a request or response in flight and change it.
Breakpoints (PRO) let you intercept matching traffic and edit it before it continues. A paused request opens the Debug window.
Add a breakpoint
- Right-click a request → Breakpoint, or open Tools → Breakpoints (
⌘⇧B) and click +. - Enter the URL, pick a method (optionally Include all subpaths), and choose to break on the Request, the Response, or both. A
ws://orwss://URL pauses WebSocket frames instead.
When it pauses
- Edit request/response headers, body, or status code.
- Click Continue to send it on, or Abort to fail the request. The Body and Raw editors support
⌘Zundo and⌘Ffind. - Closed the Debug window with requests still paused? Tools → Debug Window (
⌘⇧D) brings them back. - Modifiers (add, remove, or replace a header; replace a body) can also apply edits automatically: turn on Auto-continue after applying modifiers to skip the pause.
Heads upBreakpoints require SSL decode for the host. A paused HTTP request or response waits until you click Continue or Abort; only a paused WebSocket frame resumes on its own after 60 seconds.
