Troubleshooting
Common issues and fixes.
System proxy doesn't toggle
Without the helper, MinPin switches the system proxy itself, which needs an admin account. On a non-admin account or a managed Mac, install MinPin Helper (Settings → Tools → Install Helper), or use explicit proxy settings or HTTP_PROXY env vars. See MinPin Helper.
I can't see HTTPS content (just a lock)
Enable SSL Proxying for that host and make sure the CA is trusted (Always Trust).
localhost traffic isn't captured
macOS/CFNetwork bypass the configured proxy for loopback. Use a real hostname, or test with a tool that honors an explicit -x proxy.
An app shows certificate errors while MinPin is decoding it
Some apps pin certificates. The Response pane then shows a Possible Certificate Pinning card with an Explain button. Disable SSL decode for that host, or leave it tunneled. When a phone that already trusts the CA rejects a host this way, MinPin forwards that host untouched for that device for the rest of the session.
A device on my network can't connect
Turn on Allow LAN connections (bind 0.0.0.0) in Settings → Certificates (MinPin binds loopback-only by default), check the proxy IP/port, and confirm the CA is installed + fully trusted on the device.
