Proxy iOS & Android

Capture traffic from iPhones, iPads, simulators, and Android.

MinPin can proxy other devices on your network. The general flow:

  1. Find your Mac's LAN IP: open Help → Setup Guide… and pick iPhone or Android (or use Certificate → Install on iOS Device… / Install on Android Device…). The guide shows the address and walks through each step.
  2. On the device, set the Wi-Fi HTTP proxy to <your-mac-ip>:8080.
  3. Install and trust MinPin's CA on the device (open http://<your-mac-ip>:8080/cert in the device's browser or scan the QR code, install the profile, enable full trust).
  4. Enable SSL Proxying for the hosts you want to decrypt.

In the sidebar's Apps tab, a phone's traffic is grouped under that device (for example iPhone), whichever app sent it.

iOS Simulator

The Simulator shares your Mac's network, so captures appear automatically once the CA is trusted in the simulator. Certificate → Install on iOS Simulator… (⌘⇧I) walks you through installing and trusting it in every running simulator.

Android

Set the Wi-Fi proxy and install the CA as a user (or system) certificate. Note that Android apps targeting modern API levels may not trust user CAs without a network-security-config.

NoteLAN device proxying requires MinPin to listen on all interfaces; enable it explicitly with Allow LAN Connections in the setup guide or Settings → Certificates → Allow LAN connections (bind 0.0.0.0), then restart MinPin (it binds loopback-only by default for safety). By default each new device must be allowed in a prompt on your Mac before it can use MinPin.
